GMC has over 273,000 Facebook friends and more than 8,250 Twitter followers. Social networking is hugely important in today's marketing landscape. General Motors is parlaying this into an online sales opportunity for vehicles like GMC Terrain.
The company will introduce Facebook Connectivity for online vehicle shopping on the social level, allowing visitors to sign in with their account and build / save / share configured vehicles.
When you share these results on your profile, friends can post comments or "like" them. Since a study conducted by Bereford Research found 65% of the 18 - 24 age range consider social network information sharing when making a purchase decision, it's a good bet.
"We recognize that car buyers are not only looking for product information when shopping for their next car or truck but also use feedback from friends and family to help narrow down their selection," said John Schwegman, US vice president of GMC Marketing.1
GMC will also introduce the Showroom Mobile App - allowing shoppers to explore, configure, locate, compare, price and schedule a test drive for GMC vehicles at dealers like Walser Buick GMC Bloomington - 4601 American Blvd. West in Bloomington, MN.
