2026 vs. New Enclave: What’s Changed?

August 18th, 2026 by

If you’ve been eyeing a Buick Enclave and are trying to decide whether to buy the 2026 model or wait for the 2027, you’re not alone. The good news: this isn’t a full redesign year, so the changes are easier to weigh. Here’s a clear breakdown of what’s different between the 2026 and 2027 Enclave, courtesy of Walser Buick GMC Bloomington.

The Short Answer

The 2027 Enclave is a carryover model built on the same third-generation platform introduced for 2025 — same engine, same core design, same interior layout. What’s new for 2027 comes down to technology, a few feature standardizations, and cosmetic updates rather than a ground-up refresh.

What’s New for 2027

Google Gemini AI, Now Standard Every 2027 Enclave, regardless of trim, comes with Google Gemini built in. This upgrades the voice assistant experience across the Enclave’s 30-inch curved display, making hands-free navigation, messaging, and vehicle controls smarter and more conversational.

Super Cruise Standard on Avenir For 2026, Super Cruise hands-free driving technology was an optional package on the Avenir trim. For 2027, it comes standard. It remains available as an option on Preferred and Sport Touring trims for both model years.

New Camera Features The 2027 Enclave adds a Surround Vision Recorder, along with Cabin Glance and Security Recording — new camera-based tools that give owners more ways to monitor and document what’s happening in and around their vehicle.

Two New Exterior Colors Blue Onyx and Emerald Green Metallic join the palette for 2027, replacing Ocean Blue Metallic and Smokey Amethyst Metallic from the 2026 lineup.

New Avenir Interior Colorway The Avenir trim adds a Cool Gray and Twilight Ash interior color scheme as a new option for 2027.

New Wheel Designs Two new wheel options debut for 2027: a 20-inch design and an Avenir-exclusive 22-inch wheel with a Pearl Nickel finish.

What Stays the Same

Mechanically, the 2026 and 2027 Enclave are identical. Both are powered by a turbocharged 2.5L four-cylinder engine producing 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Both offer seating for up to seven, nearly 97.5 cubic feet of total cargo space, and towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped. Exterior design, interior layout, and the signature 30-inch display all carry over unchanged.

Does the Price Change?

Because Super Cruise is now standard on the Avenir trim rather than optional, the 2027 Avenir’s starting price reflects that added value. Preferred and Sport Touring pricing remains closer to where the 2026 model landed, with Super Cruise still available as an add-on for those trims.

Which One Should You Choose?

  • Consider the 2026 Enclave if you want the same proven platform, engine, and features at a strong value, and you don’t need the newest tech or color options.
  • Consider the 2027 Enclave if standard Google Gemini, standard Super Cruise on Avenir, or the new camera features and colors matter to you.

Either way, you’re getting a spacious, capable three-row SUV built on a platform that’s proven itself since its full redesign.
