Meet the Next-Gen 2027 GMC Sierra 1500

September 30th, 2026 by

GMC’s next-generation 2027 Sierra 1500 is coming soon to Walser Buick GMC Bloomington. It’s shaping up to be the smartest, most refined and most powerful Sierra 1500 yet.

If your week mixes I-494 rush hour, job sites and weekend trips, this truck was redesigned with you in mind. It will bring a new interior, two all-new V8s and more than 60 inches of combined digital displays.

Sierra 1500 2027

5 Things to Know About the 2027 Sierra 1500

1. Two all-new V8 engines. The 5.7L V8 makes 402 hp and 428 lb.-ft. of torque, and it can tow up to 13,500 lbs. The 6.6L V8 makes 481 hp and 501 lb.-ft., which GMC calls the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in its class. The standard TurboMax (350 hp, 455 lb.-ft.) and the 3.0L Duramax diesel (305 hp, 495 lb.-ft.) round out the lineup.

2. A tech-forward cabin. More than 60 inches of combined screens lead the class. Every trim has a 16.3-inch infotainment display. Denali and above add a 15-inch multicolor Head-Up Display, and the Denali Ultimate and AT4X get an 11.5-inch front passenger display.

3. Hands-free highway driving. Super Cruise handles steering, acceleration and braking on compatible roads, now with trailering capability. It’s standard on the AT4, AT4X, Denali and Denali Ultimate and available on the Elevation Crew Cab.

4. Smarter hauling. The MultiPro Tailgate adds four new 250-lb. tie-downs for a class-leading 16 total. It also has an integrated ruler. Payload reaches up to 2,320 lbs. depending on configuration.

5. See everything around you. Up to 19 camera views are available, including first-in-class front and rear underbody cameras with a wash function. That’s a real help in tight parking ramps and on the trail.
